AtriCure Begins Enrollment of Atrial Fibrillation Study

AtriCure has enrolled the first patient in its CEASE AF clinical study, which will compare the results of a combined epicardial surgical plus endocardial catheter technique versus a standard endocardial catheter ablation technique for patients with persistent or long-standing atrial fibrillation.

The study — which will cover more than 200 patients — is intended to demonstrate additional evidence for a combined surgical plus catheter ablation approach as a therapy for the stand-alone treatment atrial fibrillation.
