Titan Medical Completes First SPORT Surgical System

Toronto, Ontario-based Titan Medical has completed its first SPORT Surgical Systems, precursors of the systems that will be built in early 2016 for the first-in-human trials.

The system consists of a surgeon-controlled robotic platform with a 3D vision system, as well as interactive instruments for minimally invasive surgical procedures.

It also includes a surgeon workstation to provide the surgeon with an interface to the robotic platform for controlling the instruments and providing a 3D endoscopic view of inside a patient's body during the procedure. — Michael Cipriano
