Avedro Scores CE Mark Clearance for Cross‐Linking System

December 24, 2015

Avedro has received the CE Mark clearance for its Mosaic system, which the company says could improve patients’ vision without the need for invasive surgery.

The Mosaic device is designed to deliver light patterns to the cornea based on a patient’s topographic data. This procedure allows customized cross-linking based on a patient’s specific refractive needs.

Word of the win comes as Avedro starts its search for a new CEO; current head David Miller has resigned to pursue other opportunities.

In November, the company completed $32 million equity financing led by new investors InterWest and OrbiMed, as well as several of the company’s existing investors.

The Mosaic system is commercially available outside the U.S. — Elizabeth Hollis
