Vascular Dynamics Lands CE Mark for MobiusHD System

Mountain View, Calif.-based Vascular Dynamics has secured CE mark approval for its MobiusHD system for the treatment of resistant hypertension.

The implant utilizes the ability of the body’s baroreceptor mechanism to regulate blood pressure.

It amplifies the signals received by the surrounding baroreceptors, and consequently amplifies the body’s response to lower blood pressure through vasodilation.

According to the company, the drug-resistant clinical problem is a major unmet medical need, with nearly 100 million people experiencing this kind of hypertension. — Michael Cipriano
