Bonesupport Taps Industry Vet as Next CEO

January 22, 2016

For a quarter century, Richard Davies has been a leader in the life sciences arena. Now, he will bring his expertise to Lund, Sweden-based Bonesupport, which makes injectable bone substitutes and scaffolding technology for orthopedic trauma.

Davies most recently worked at Hospira — which was recently bought by Pfizer — as chief commercial officer. He also held a number of senior positions at Amgen before joining Hospira.

Lloyd Diamond, the company's current chief executive, will transition to the role of chief business officer, effective immediately. The move will allow him to relocate back to the U.S., the company's largest market.

As CEO, Diamond was instrumental in securing a distribution agreement with Zimmer Biomet and helped transform the company from pure R&D to a commercial group, according to a prepared statement. — Elizabeth Hollis
