Boston Scientific Gains CE Mark for Eluvia, Starts New Clinical Trial

February 22, 2016

Boston Scientific has received CE Mark certification for its drug-eluting vascular stent system, Eluvia, the devicemaker announced Monday.

Eluvia is a drug-polymer stent that aims to restore blood flow in the superficial femoral and proximal popliteal arteries. The stent is designed to aid with the sustained release of paclitaxel.

The company also received an IDE that allows it to perform the global IMPERIAL trial, which will assess Eluvia’s safety and efficacy versus Cook Medical’s Zilver PTX stent. — Anisa Jibrell
