Harvard Apparatus Changes Name to Biostage

April 1, 2016

Harvard Apparatus Regenerative Technology has changed its name to Biostage to better reflect the company’s development of bioengineered organ implants for the esophagus, bronchus and trachea.

The Biostage name change represents the company’s shift from bioreactors and research tools to bioengineered organ implants, and differentiates its new Cellframe technology platform, according to company CEO Jim McGorry.

The company plans to file an IND for its Cellspan esophageal implant later in the year. — Anisa Jibrell
