ivWatch Now Available for Continuous IV Monitoring

IvWatch, a Hampton, Va.-area startup, has announced the availability of its ivWatch model 400, designed for constant IV monitoring and early detection of fluid leakage. 

The device won FDA clearance last year.

The system offers a new “layer of security” by avoiding medication dosing errors, thereby reducing healthcare costs, the company says.

It includes a noninvasive sensor to detect changes in the optical properties of the tissue. It will notify clinicians if conditions suggest an infiltration, allowing them intervene. ― Anisa Jibrell
