Toshiba’s Aplio Ultrasound System Deemed Secure by U.S. Department of Defense

Tustin, Calif.-based Toshiba America Medical Systems has secured authorization to operate with the U.S. Air Force for its Aplio Platinum Series ultrasound systems.

Previously, the company secured ATO for its CT, MR and cardiovascular X-ray portfolios.

To address growing cyber threats and protect patient health information, the ultrasound platform was refined to include whitelisting security software to prevent and pinpoint viruses. — Anisa Jibrell
