Super Herbs Yanks Appetite Suppressant Over Presence of Unapproved Medications

April 17, 2016

Supplement maker Super Herbs is recalling all bottles of its namesake light green and dark green capsules after testing showed they contained unapproved medications.

The voluntary recall — announced last week — was prompted by FDA lab tests that showed these Super Herbs products include sibutramine, desmethylsibutramine and phenolphthalein, which all have been removed from the market.

Super Herbs says there have been no reports of adverse events related to the products, and that it has notified all customers via email. It added that its Super Herbs product will be discontinued.

The company did not return a request for comment.
