China Seeks to Improve Vaccine Management System

China’s State Council has unveiled plans to reform the country’s vaccine management system.

The overhaul will prohibit companies from buying vaccines directly from manufacturers. In addition, the China Food and Drug Administration will establish an information management system to trace the process from vaccine production to circulation.

The Chinese government launched an investigation into its vaccine system in March, questioning 130 people and filing 69 criminal cases.
