DePuy Synthes Acquires BioMedical Enterprises

May 10, 2016

DePuy Orthopedics –— an extension of Johnson & Johnson subsidiary DePuy Synthes Companies — has picked up BioMedical Enterprises for an undisclosed sum.

BioMedical Enterprises specializes in Nitinol orthopedic implants for musculoskeletal fixation, which are intended to treat bunions, hammertoes, foot and ankle defects, as well as hand and wrist deformities.

The acquisition will expand DePuy’s portfolio for extremity procedures, and BME’s portfolio will be factored into the company’s trauma offerings. — Anisa Jibrell
