NinePoint Medical Secures FDA Clearance for NvisionVLE Imaging System

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance to NinePoint to commercialize its new real-time targeting feature on its NvisionVLE imaging system, the Boston, Mass.-based company announced Tuesday.

The system uses optical coherence tomography — an ultrasound-like technology that uses infrared light rather than sound waves — to conduct volumetric laser endomicroscopy procedures that can yield cross-sectional images in real-time.
