First Ray Secures FDA Clearance for CortiClamp

The FDA has granted 501(k) clearance to First Ray for its CortiClamp small bone fixation system, the company announced Monday.

The bone screw device uses a “bi-cortical clamping force,” and is designed to serve as a reduction clamp, drill guide, countersink guide, depth gage and implant delivery guide, according to the company.

Based in Logan, Utah, First Ray is a startup led by Surgical Frontiers with an eye toward orthopedic extremity solutions. — Anisa Jibrell
