CDER Names Dohm as New Senior Science Advisor for Compounding

May 23, 2016

Julie Dohm has been tapped as the permanent senior science advisor for compounding, succeeding Jane Axelrad, CDER Director Janet Woodcock announced last week.

Dohm, who previously worked in the FDA’s Office of Chief Counsel, will supervise compounding activities ranging from policy development to implementing legislation. This includes taking a risk-based approach toward enforcement against compounders by targeting compounding facilities that pose the greatest risk to public health.

Prior to joining the FDA, Dohm clerked for federal judges in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Her predecessor is retiring.
