Novartis’ Entresto Gains Strong Recommendation in Heart Failure Guidelines

Heart specialists in the U.S. and the EU are giving Novartis’ heart failure drug Entresto their strongest recommendation in updated clinical practice guidelines.

The guidelines backing the drug’s use were simultaneously released by the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Heart Failure Society of America and the European Society of Cardiology.

The endorsements come less than a year after the drug’s regulatory approval for treating the strain on failing hearts.
