Alexander: Biomedical Innovation Package Coming Soon

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) expressed confidence that Democrats and Republicans will come forward with a biomedical innovation package over the coming weeks.

Lamar, who chairs the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, said in a floor speech that the two sides should have a legislative proposal by June or early July after the committee advanced 19 bipartisan bills to the full chamber between February and April.

“There is no excuse whatsoever for us not to get a result this year,” Alexander said.
