Medtronic’s Valiant Evo System Treats First Patient

Medtronic said Wednesday that the first patient has been treated with its Valiant Evo thoracic stent graft system, which is designed for the repair of descending thoracic aortic aneurysms.

The system provides a minimally invasive option to patients with an 18F and 20F outer diameter profile for most size configurations, the device giant said, and features tip capture and high stent graft conformability.

The procedure was performed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. The IDE trial will include 100 patients in the U.S. and Europe. — Anisa Jibrell
