GenMark Nabs CE Mark for ePlex System

Carlsbad, Calif.-based GenMark Diagnostics has earned CE mark approval for its ePlex instrument system and ePlex respiratory pathogen panel, the company announced Wednesday.

ePlex is a  “sample-to-answer” system that combines sample preparation with the company’s  eSensor detection technology to detect  numerous molecular targets on one test cartridge, according to the company.

The company is pushing for an FDA submission toward the end of the third quarter or start of the fourth quarter of this year. — Anisa Jibrell
