Two Former Insys Employees Charged With Kickback Scheme

June 17, 2016

Two former Insys Therapeutics employees have been arrested and charged in connection with an apparent kickback scheme.

FBI agents have arrested Jonathan Roper, a former district manager with Insys, and Fernando Serrano, a former sales representative, for their alleged involvement in a sham educational program that paid doctors thousands of dollars as an inducement to prescribe the company’s pain relief drug Subsys.

The Justice Department contends the two former employees violated the Anti-Kickback Statute. Each is charged with one count of conspiracy to violate the statute and another count for violating the statute.
