Cardica Changes Name to Dextera Surgical

Cardica, manufacturer of minimally invasive stapling devices, has switched its name to Dextera Surgical to reflect the company’s “evolution,” the Redwood City, Calif.-based company announced Monday.

Specifically, the change will reflect the company’s efforts on expanding its focus beyond cardiac surgery and extending its surgical stapling technology portfolio across a diverse range of clinical procedures.

Dextera’s C-Port Distal anastomosis systems and PAS-Port proximal anastomosis system will continue to carry the Cardica name. — Anisa Jibrell
