First Patients Treated With CorMatrix Tyke

June 22, 2016

CorMatrix Cardiovascular said Tuesday that the first patients have been treated with its CorMatrix Tyke, which is designed to repair pericardial structures in neonates and infants.

The product consists of two layers of CorMatrix extracellular molecules, which acts as an epicardial covering for damaged or repaired cardiac tissue, the company said. The two-ply makeup caters to smaller structures.

The product gained FDA clearance last February. — Anisa Jibrell
