Zika Funding Bill Skates Through House
June 29, 2016
After ironing out funding differences with the Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed a conference report that earmarks $315 million for research and development on combatting the Zika virus.
The conference report (H.R. 2755) would provide $230 million for the National Institutes of Health to support R&D for vaccines and diagnostic tests, while the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority would receive $85 million for R&D activities.
Last week, it was approved 239-171, House records show. A Senate vote has not been scheduled.
