Health Canada Approves Baxter’s AMIA

Health Canada has approved Baxter International’s AMIA automated peritoneal dialysis system, the company announced Wednesday.

AMIA is the first APD device cleared in the U.S. and Canada to feature patient-centric characteristics such as voice guidance, a touchscreen control panel and two-way telemedicine capabilities, according to the company.

The company plans on launching the system with its SHARESOURCE connectivity platform in late 2016. — Anisa Jibrell
