Medtronic Picks Up HeartWare

Medtronic has purchased HeartWare International, a provider of circulatory support technologies, for a total of $1.1 billion.

Under the all-cash transaction, Medtronic will receive all outstanding shares for $58 a share.

The acquisition will bolster Medtronic’s menu of diagnostic tools, therapies and services catering to patients with heart failure. — Anisa Jibrell
