FDA Clears Syneron’s Ultra-short Wavelength PicoWay Laser

Syneron Medical announced Monday that the FDA has cleared its PicoWay laser device on a 785 nanometer wavelength, the third FDA-cleared wavelength for the fat-reduction platform.

The device uses ultrasound energy pulses to break up fat stored in the abdomen.

The company says the device is 20 percent more effective than its predecessor and they have documented a 32-percent decrease in subcutaneous fat thickness.
