BioMerieux Is Recalling Magnetic Silica Due to Potential for Inaccuracy

In vitro diangostics firm BioMerieux is recalling 22 lots of its NucliSENS easyMAG magnetic silica kits after learning that the silica in a number of lots being defective.

The product is used to extract nucleic acids from biological samples which can then be used in various applications for molecular assays.

This recall affects certain lots distributed between December 2015 and now. — Cynthia Jessup
