Baxter Recalls Micron Filter Due to Potential for Missing Filter Membrane, Contamination

Baxter Corp. has issued a recall of its 50 mm 0.2 Micron Filter after receiving reports about the discovery of particulate matter and the possible absence of filter membrane layers in the filter set.

The device component is to filter bacteria and other microscopic matter when preparing water-based solutions used for IV administration sets.

There are 130,100 units nationwide that are noted for recall. — Cynthia Jessup
