House Slated to Vote on 21st Century Cures Act
November 29, 2016
The House of Representatives is set to put a vote to the 21st Century Cures Act today.
The bill is designed to speed up FDA approval of new drugs by providing a boost in funding for medical research and increasing patient participation in drug approvals.
It would also renew the FDA’s rare pediatric disease priority review voucher program until 2020 and establish a program to evaluate the real-world evidence in NDAs and post-market requirements.
If the legislation passes the House, the Senate would have to pass the bill before it adjourns Dec. 16.
