McKesson Launches Central Fill as a Service

McKesson has released central fill as a service that is accessible to customers as well as pharmacies.

Central Fill is term for a centrally located prescription fill warehouse center that pharmacies send prescriptions to be filled. Once filled, the prescriptions are delivered patient-ready back to the originating pharmacy or mailed directly to the patient.

Rather than the prior central fill model that requires pre-investment, central fill is available to customers through a per-prescription fee that will reduce the pharmacy’s per-prescription cost to dispense. — Cynthia Jessup
