Japan Clears Three Accuray Devices

February 9, 2017

Sunnyvale, California–based Accuray has received Shonin marketing clearance from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for its Radixact treatment delivery system, Accuray Precision treatment planning system and iDMS data management system  that’s three separate systems?.

This radiation therapy device system has a low-dose fan beam MVCT (megavoltage computed tomography) imaging and a helical treatment mode, which is a narrow intensity modulated pencil beam delivered from a rotating gantry while the patient is simultaneously moved through the bore – so that clinicians can deliver individualized dose distributions to any tumor. The device solution enables clinicians to routinely adjust treatment plans during the course of treatment to account for changes in tumor size, shape and location.

The device system is available in Japan, in certain markets in the European Union and in the U.S. market. — Cynthia Jessup
