Medtronic Announces Health Canada Approval for Drug-Coated Balloon
February 10, 2017
Medtronic Canada has obtained a license from Health Canada license for its IN.PACT Admiral drug-coated balloon.
The product is a primary endovascular device used in patients with peripheral artery disease in the thigh and behind the knee.
The device is used by inserting a compressed balloon into the artery, inflating the balloon to re-open the blockage and then removing it. The device leaves behind medication designed to help prevent the artery from narrowing. — Cynthia Jessup
