Medrobotics Achieves FDA Clearance for Flex Robotic System for Scarfree Colorectal Procedures

May 8, 2017

Massachusetts–based Medrobotics Corp. has received FDA marketing clearance for its Flex robotic system for colorectal procedures.

The minimally invasive Flex robotic system provides surgeons the ability to navigate complex anatomy through a single, small entry point to operate in difficult-to-reach places.

Medrobotics is developing new surgical applications in the areas of general surgery, gynecology and urology, among others. The new applications are not yet cleared for use in the U.S.

Medrobotics received its initial FDA clearance for the Flex robotic system in July 2015 and the CE mark in March 2014. — Cynthia Jessup
