Life Spine Gains FDA Clearance of Cranial Fusion System with Solstice Screws

May 10, 2017

Life Spine has received FDA clearance for its cranial fusion system, expanding the indications to include the use of Solstice polyaxial screws in the cervical spine.

The cranial fusion system is a multiple component system comprised of titanium alloy, with a variety of occipital plates, occipital bone screws, polyaxial screws, hooks, connectors, rods and locking caps.

The conical device facilitates rod placement and the “friction head” feature maintains screw head position within the surgical wound.

In order to achieve additional levels of fixation, the cranial fusion system may be connected to the Nautilus thoracolumbar pedicle screw system titanium connectors. The hooks and rods are also intended to promote fusion. — Cynthia Jessup
