Magellan Recalls Lead Testing Systems Over Accuracy Concerns

Magellan Diagnostics has recalled its LeadCare Plus and LeadCare Ultra Blood Lead Testing Systems over accuracy concerns.

The Magellan devices are two of four such devices affected by an FDA safety communication released May 17. The FDA said it was unable to identify the root cause for the inaccurate results, based on data provided by Magellan.

The agency said it is conducting studies with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to identify the cause. — Zack Budryk
