AngioDynamics Wins FDA Clearance for Solero Microwave Tissue Ablation System

The FDA has granted marketing clearance to AngioDynamics for its Solero microwave tissue ablation system.

The Solero MTA system and accessories are indicated for the ablation of soft tissue during open procedures, but not for cardiac use.

The system has a solid state  microwave generator with a 2.45 GHz operating frequency which can power up to 140 W. The system’s ceramic tip diffuses microwave energy and its cooling channel includes real-time monitoring to help protect non-targeted tissue ablation. — Cynthia Jessup
