TGA Expands Drug-Tampering Recalls to Arrow, Sandoz

June 19, 2017

Following further reports of drug tampering, Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration expanded an ongoing recall to include Arrow Pharmaceuticals and Novartis’ Sandoz.

Arrow will recall all 50-pill packs of Valpam 5, a generic version of Valium, after discovering some may contain blister sheets of amlodipine manufactured by Sandoz, a generic of the blood pressure drug Norvasc.

Meanwhile, Sandoz will recall a batch of amlodipine, after discovering some packs missing a blister sheet — indicating those sheets may have been substituted into Valpam 5 packs. — Zack Budryk
