EMA Fielding 19 Offers to Host New Headquarters Post-Brexit

The European Union received offers from 19 cities to host the headquarters of the European Medicines Agency after the Brexit process is completed. The EMA will have to relocate from London before March 2019. A final decision is expected by November 2017.

The cities include: Amsterdam; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; Bonn, Germany; Bratislava, Slovakia; Brussels; Bucharest, Romania; Copenhagen, Denmark; Dublin; Helsinki; Lille, France; the country of Malta; Milan; Porto, Portugal; Sofia, Bulgaria; Stockholm; Vienna; Warsaw, Poland; and Zagreb, Croatia.

The individual countries submitted brochures touting their cities’ international travel and communications infrastructures, available corporate real estate and local ties to the biomedical research and pharmaceutical industries.
