IPRF and IGDRP Plan to Consolidate Initiatives

September 6, 2017

The International Pharmaceutical Regulators Forum and the International Generic Drug Regulators Programme agreed to consolidate their initiatives to avoid duplication.

The joint initiative is planned to launch by January 2018, with the first face-to-face meeting of a consolidated management committee set for June 2018.

The FDA serves as a member or observer in both organizations. Other members include the European Commission and the European Medicines Agency; Health Canada; Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; Swissmedic; and the World Health Organization — as well as the regulatory agencies of Australia, Brazil, Mexico and Singapore.
