PhRMA Unveils ‘Multi-Million Dollar’ Initiative on Opioid Addiction

PhRMA announced it is partnering with the Addiction Policy Forum as part of a “multi-year, multi-million dollar” initiative to address opioid addiction.

The initiative will build on the forum’s vision plan “Priorities to Address Addiction in America,” released in October. The plan identified several strategies for combating addiction, including the analysis of key states for potential gaps in existing programs, developing an online portal to ensure access to addiction treatment options, and improved education about addiction for patients and families.

The forum is “actively working to provide resources to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction and treatment, and we are proud to support their efforts through this new partnership, said the association’s President and CEO Stephen Ubl.
