Texas Did Not Properly Bill Drugmakers for Rebates: OIG

January 10, 2018

The HHS Office of Inspector General said the state of Texas failed to comply with Medicaid requirements for billing drugmakers for rebates.

Some rebate claims were not properly processed during the billing cycle for the second quarters of 2012 and 2014, the OIG found.

More than 220,000 claim lines were not invoiced for rebate, costing the federal government $4.4 million and costing $7.8 million total in rebates.
