Armed With New Patent, Indivior Sues Suboxone Generics Applicants

Indivior sued five competitors for infringing on its patent for the Suboxone sublingual film for treatment of opioid dependence.

Suboxone represents 80 percent of Indivior’s revenue, which totaled $275 million for the third quarter of 2017.

The patent at issue relates to polymer film compositions with a substantially uniform distribution of the active drug. The defendants’ proposed Suboxone generics would infringe on the patent, according to Indivior.
