Corindus Receives FDA Clearance for Automation Software

Corindus Vascular Robotics received 510(k) clearance for the first automated robotic software designed for its CorPath GRX surgical platform.

The proprietary software allows the operator to quickly navigate to a targeted lesion by automatically rotating the guidewire upon joystick retraction.

Preclinical data demonstrated a significant reduction in wiring time among a highly-experienced group of physicians when comparing robotic wiring versus robotic wiring with the software feature enabled.

The software won CE Mark approval in January.
