Boston Scientific Acquires Thermal Monitor Developer Securus

Boston Scientific announced its acquisition of Securus Medical Group, a thermal monitoring system developer.

Securus’ catheter-based probe and imaging system — which has received 510(k) approval from the FDA — creates real-time images of esophagus temperature and is designed to help perform cardiac ablation procedures while by avoiding thermal injury.

Boston Scientific plans to introduce the system in the U.S. in the first half of 2019 and will integrate it with its Rhythmia HDx mapping system.
