New Zealand’s Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority is proposing fee increases for the majority of its services, including reviewing new devices and GMP inspections.

Medsafe is proposing that the hourly fee for manufacturing inspections would increase from NZ$138 (US$102) per hour to NZ$178 (US$131) per hour.

Overseas inspections would be billed at NZ$250 (US$184) an hour plus NZ$200 (US$147) per hour for travel time (up to 8 hours) and an additional NZ$50 (US$37) administrative fee.

Fees for medical device regulatory statements to foreign governments would increase from NZ$135 (US$99) to NZ$178 (US$131).
