Judge Orders DEA to Produce Data on Suspicious Opioid Orders

An Ohio judge ordered the Drug Enforcement Administration to turn over more data in multidistrict litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors.

Judge Dan Aaron Polster of the Northern District of Ohio ordered the DEA to produce all transaction business data and reports on suspicious orders the defendants—which include Purdue, Teva, Allergan, McKesson, Endo and AmerisourceBergen—filed from 2006 to 2014 in Ohio, West Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, Alabama or Florida.

The agency must provide the data from its Automation of Reports and Consolidated Orders System (ARCOS) — which tracks the flow of controlled substances from their point of manufacture through point of sale or distribution — by April 20.
