China to Exempt Imported Cancer Drugs From Tariffs
April 19, 2018
Under a new policy set to take effect May 1, China will exempt cancer drugs made overseas from import tariffs.
China’s State Council also pledged to reduce the value-added tax on such products to further ease financial pressures on patients.
Currently, the import tax for cancer drugs from the U.S. is 4 percent. The current value-added tax is 17 percent.
