Florida Pharmacy Owner Gets 15 Years for Compounding Scheme

April 30, 2018

A Florida pharmacy owner was sentenced to 15 years in prison over a compounding pharmacy fraud scheme.

Nicholas A. Borgesano Jr. pleaded guilty last November to conspiracy to commit health care fraud and conspiracy to engage in monetary transactions involving criminally derived property. Borgesano made more than $100 million in fraud through several shell companies and pharmacies he owned.

As part of his guilty plea, Borgesano admitted to submitting false and fraudulent reimbursement claims to Medicare and TRICARE as well as private insurers. Six co-conspirators were previously sentenced.
