Boston Scientific Comments on Pelvic Mesh Controversy

Boston Scientific spoke out about its transvaginal mesh products after a CBS report accused the device manufacturer of using counterfeit Chinese materials to construct the mesh devices.

The device manufacturer said the report showed documents and photos taken out of context, depicted the company inaccurately and had commentary from clinicians and plastic experts “involved with litigious actions.”

“Our products meet rigorous internal safety standards, international standards, as well [as] the standards of the FDA and other regulatory bodies,” the company said.
