OptoVue’s Epithelial Thickness Mapping Gains Expanded Clearance

The FDA approved an expanded clearance for non-contact, quantitative measurements of OptoVue’s epithelial thickness mapping (ETM).

The optical coherence tomography developer’s ETM is available on the Avanti Widefield OCT system and provides measurements useful for diagnosing ocular diseases in adults.

The expanded clearance adds nine-millimeter mapping to the previous six-millimeter map, allowing a larger detection area for epithelial irregularities.
